Leon Mann

Leon Mann has earned a reputation for delivering big name interviews  – from Usain Bolt to David Beckham, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce to Jose Mourinho. During his time at the BBC he made a name for himself as a regular reporter on Match Of The Day, Football Focus, World Olympic Dreams and British Olympic Dreams programmes. He has also presented the amateur boxing coverage on BBC 2. Leon has a real passion for making films and has written, directed and produced the highly rated BBC documentary on Usain Bolt: ‘The Fastest Man Who Has Ever Lived’. He's a keen writer too, being a columnist in The Voice Newspaper and has written for The Guardian, The Times and the Daily Mirror. In 2010, Leon founded the Black Collective of Media in Sport (BCOMS), a network that lobbies the UK’s leading power brokers in the media industry to raise the prospects and profile of black sports journalists in the UK.

David was until recently the head of sport at the Mirror Group and formerly sports editor of both the Sunday and Daily Mirror. Apart from his executive posts at the Mirror, he was chief football news reporter for the Daily Mail and had three years as deputy sports editor at the Mail on Sunday. David spent three years as director of PR and corporate affairs at Leeds United, then 18 months as managing director of Barnsley. He is also a committee member and immediate past Chair of the SJA.

Faye Carruthers

Faye counts Premier League Productions, Sky Sports, BBC Sport and Channel 5 as just some of the TV channels she works for as a presenter, reporter and voiceover artist. Eden Hazard, N'Golo Kante, Thibaut Courtois, Son Heung-Min and Danny Rose are among the players she has exclusively interviewed of late and last summer she travelled out to Russia to cover the World Cup. Currently, she is a regular on Sky Sports both as a reporter for Soccer Saturday and commentator for their netball coverage as well as being a member of the Guardian's Football Weekly podcast team. She has been a familiar voice on the radio airwaves too and has worked at a number of BBC and commercial stations - most notably for 5 live, Absolute Radio and talkSPORT.   


Andy Burgess -  
Internet filmmaker and storyteller

Andy is an internet filmmaker and storyteller, primarily shooting highly-produced vertical videos for Instagram stories and IGTV. He found an audience on Snapchat in 2017 when he was living in New York, and quickly became one of the most recognised creators on the platform. He became a 2018 Shorty Award finalist for Snapchatter of the Year and his profile even appeared on the NASDAQ screen in New York's Times Square. See his promo video HERE.

Now based in London, Andy is focused on Instagram with an IGTV series based all around travel filmmaking and creating shortform documentaries. He’s recently been to Palestine and Bangladesh telling the stories of unsung heroes and change makers. He also works alongside brands like Three, Samsung, Forbes, Joby & College Humour creating exciting and engaging social content. Andy graduated in Popular Music in 2015, and has quickly forged himself a brand new form of media career - one which has only really emerged over the last few years -so come along and listen to his amazing story.
